We are A 501c3 non profit advocacy group. We are centered around helping homicide survivors from the very start of this "new normal" by bridging the gap in county provided services and helping support the overwhelming amount of cases in our county . VAA is run by homicide survivors, for homicide survivors. Our team is here to walk by your side through the ins and outs of all things that come along with this journey. We provide in court room and out of courtroom support. We are there for you and your family through every step of the court proceeding process to offer support and answer any questions along the way. If we don't know the answers we will find out or refer you to someone who can in a timely manner. We can help with filing paperwork through CalVCB as well as offering other resources to help with costs incurred from the loss of your loved one. We provide "court room survival bags" to the families who chose to be in the court room during trial. We also provide resources and support groups. We provide a prayer chain for those who would like to be prayed over throughout the process through local churches and Pastors who have offered their time in prayer. We have services for the youth who are directly involved by helping to provide gifts during holidays, help with proms and graduations, as well as providing special things specifically for children during support group meetings and resources specific to youth.
These are just a few of the many things we are doing and planning. Please check back regularly for updates and events. Thank you for your support!
